Back to the 90’s huh?

I’m all about comfort in my style so when there’s a bag out there that doesn’t require a hand to hold it, I have to have it! I absolutely love the fanny pack trend and how my favourite bloggers and street style divas style it, with cute dresses and chiffon skirts and elegant pant suits! I already got myself a belt bag in black to go with possibly everything and another one i’m gonna show you here ….

How can I not mention another favourite of mine this season i.e neon. Neon clothes are everywhere. Fashion has, recently gotten brighter. A lot brighter. When the trend showed up at Prada’s fall 2018 show last season, it was bound to trickle down to brands from ASOS to Zara, as Miuccia Prada has a way of knowing exactly what we want to wear at any given moment. And it’s probably due to a lot more than the colours being bright and fun.

But neon clothes aren’t just for the runway, the privileged, or the famous. They are immensely wearable, even in your daily wardrobe!

Thank-you

Until next time,

Adiós!

Late 20’s

Entered into late 20’s with tonnes of self doubt. I wonder if I’m worthy of the big number yet, also if I’ve gained what I should have gained by now and if not then how I’m supposed to accommodate the layoff stuff to this year? Clearly, no clue.

Anyway I’d just count on the things that made this year worth remembering. I’ve promised myself to give more time to self-growth and my passion if I may say it’s so far so good. Also we entered into the 3rd year of our marriage and waking up to the best guide/lover/partner is one of the few blessings that I have and I like to pay my gratitude towards it everyday, also grateful for the house that we call home and a balanced lifestyle.

A little background story of where we live, it’s the interior of Chattisgarh goes by the name Bacheli , like 400km from the capital. So, we literally don’t have any access to city life, No luxury item gets delivered here, it’s that aloof. For every trip we take it has to be a calculative one but still we take our getaways once in a while which I’ve mentioned in one of my previous blogs. Check if you want.

As much as we like to celebrate our birthdays or anniversary away somewhere, we don’t mind having it here, around the people that have bonded in our lives in a way that it’s now we consider our extended family. So, that is how this year was special and made me feel special how? Let’s see…

I cut cake not once but twice.
First cake.

You see the tiny detail? like WOW! It’s so hard to get things personalised here but they did, whatever is possible.

second cake.

This one is from my colleagues, which happened to be the same as previous one. You know why? Because we have only one bakery in the whole town. ugh!

Girlfriends, they turn my heart lighter and the nights brighter.
A tiara that took them to find a whole hour but they didn’t give up. You bet I’ve the best squad.
This folks make the work place so much fun, you can’t even imagine.

For the food it’s hard to find a good caterer so it was more of a help from a friend of my husband who happened to be a chef and a mutual interest of idea which brought us to a conclusion like, see for yourself….

Kathi Roll.
Phirni.
Banana chicken (popular Bengali recipe with fish) and Kashmiri pulao.

Everything was served in earthenware which is easily available here and that helped to lift up the aesthetic game. Thank god! Well as I mentioned no luxury item gets delivered here, so my gift awaits in Kolkata. Till I find out what they are and come back to show off.

Ciao!

Bangkok Fashion

I was meaning to write about the fashion that made me totally adopt instantly, since the day I got back from my much needed trip to Thailand, away from the hustle bustle of my daily schedule and me and my god knows; it was indeed therapeutic .

With my limited knowledge I cannot claim to have mastered the art or have known my style yet completely so i’ am always up for experiments and trying new stuff to figure out my style better.

Okay, getting back to the topic that the place is so inspiring in terms of fashion and what not. Bangkok is famous for its night markets and various street spots in affordable price for the trendiest clothes. But they could be a little uncomfortable with their zips and fabric so you’ve to be careful with that and the rest is assured that the clothes are totally going to up your dressing game.

I’ve also explored some of the malls and found Platinum mall has all you need, all in one place from the top to the bottom, you name it and you have it.

Here are some of my items:

Skirts are most worn item there, so yeah…
Note: to get access to the Grand palace, one need to cover their knees and arms.
also this one fabric make its way back in fashion every other year. Animal print!
This was an impulse buy and honestly I don’t regret.

Hope you enjoyed and to see more of my journey here is my Instagram handle

Until next time…

Winter Drill

Hi, you guys! Hope you all are doing great in this season. Winter has finally caught up in here and I’ve managed to get some time to put together a look, which you can totally recreate as per your whims. If you’re from India, you know winter is just here for the next two to three months and for that stocking your wardrobe with winter clothes is not needed anymore because layering is the saviour here.

December is all about vacations, tours and picnics. So for all of that I got you covered with this casual yet very warm style of dressing.

My Little Getaway

Not just a hotel for namesake, but Hotel Green Park is the perfect place for me to hangout, to click pictures, and of course: relax. For the past two years, I have been a frequent visitor to the hotel (at times twice in a month), and the place offers just the perfect blend of ambience and comfort to dissolve the tiredness of the journey.

Diwali

One more year, one more Diwali debacle. My favourite and most feared night of the year. Well no Indian festival is complete without the amazing dressing that goes with it and Diwali is no different. So, here are some look that I sported this year which is very doable for any time of the year. Continue reading Diwali

Dhoti style got me hooked.

When it comes to the saree, the choices are indefinite in terms of colours, fabric, pattern and what not; but we all agree when it comes to draping, we end up choosing the traditional way and that gets a little repetitive if you’re a saree lover like me, who can live in one for life; then you’ve to try all the possible draping that is taking toll over internet. Durga Pujo

In the heart of every bengali, there lies this strong emotion that this time of the year brings and from counting of dresses to counting of days has been a journey of childhood to adulthood, but with time it gotten only stronger. Agomoni a.k.a homecoming of Maa Durga is her five-day sojourn on earth. Last year I’d missed it, but this year I’d to save my leaves. Durga Puja attracts many visitors form all over India as well as foreign tourists, but the festival is especially popular among the people of West Bengal, its special for Bengali families to come together from all over the country and celebrate with their relatives and communities. Fusion Fashion

Long time no see… huh? Hope you’re all doing great. I’d promised myself to be really punctual with my post but things caught up for the last couple of weeks. Well now I’m back to what I love to do with a brand new look. I’ve been wanting to try this look for the longest, was just waiting to find the perfect ensemble. As you’ve already read the caption which is self-explanatory, so I’ll just talk you through this trend and my take on it.

The 90’s kid

We’re probably the last generation to have lived a life outside the social media bubble now when I think of it, I’m blessed to see the contrast. We lived in two different centuries which is awesome. 🤟🏼

Back in the time we used to take photographs on special occasion and of them who mattered and when we go for a vacation, we didn’t have the luxury of clicking random photos and taking 4-5 different angles but, that lack of luxury usually resulted in really good family photos that we cherished for years.
